Linac QA Automation
Organised by IPEM’s RT SIG
As the complexity of radiotherapy treatment increases, automation is increasingly relied on to enable timely, efficient and effective use of linac time, whether this is machine QA, PSQA or treatment delivery. All current linac vendors have some automation offerings for their machine. These tools all allow some degree of automation and there are other interesting innovations in this space including vendor solutions that allow some automation. These tools should be able to improve accuracy and precision of our QA systems, and therefore treatment, ensuring patient safety.
The meeting will cover topics including:
- Automated linac QA
- Automated imaging QA
- Automation in patient-specific QA (PSQA).
As well as provide a forum for delegates to:
- Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements in current practice
- Discuss automation methods with peer group
- Learn lessons in the pursuit of automation
- See tools on the market in practice at other centres
- Network with experts in the field of QA automation
The day will also include a panel discussion on manufacturer quality control titled 'All QC will be done by manufacturer-integrated methods inevitably'
