Engineering Council Degree Accreditation

IPEM Accredited Undergraduate Degree Courses

Degree accreditation is undertaken by sector specific professional engineering institutions (PEIs) under licence from the Engineering Council.  These institutions interpret the standards as appropriate for their own sector of the profession and use them when deciding whether degree programmes meet the requirements to be awarded ‘Engineering Council accredited degree' status.

IPEM, as a PEI, takes part in accreditation visits of undergraduate degree programmes arranged by the Engineering Council's Engineering Accreditation Board (EAB).  Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) seeking accreditation by three or more PEIs submit an application to the EAB and request a joint visit for the purpose of accrediting their programme(s) against the UK-SPEC requirements for IEng and CEng qualifications.

There is a fee for this process which must be paid to the IPEM office in advance of the accreditation visit.  For current accreditation fees, please contact the IPEM training department.

For the latest information on programmes accredited by IPEM via EAB please visit the Engineering Council's 'Recognised Course Search' here and search for IPEM.
