IPEMs Staffing Resilience and Training Opportunities in Nuclear Medicine

The session will explore the challenges facing services, including staffing pressures, skills mix, recruitment, retention and career progression, before hearing perspectives from NSHCS, higher education institutions and centres supporting staff through a range of routes.

Short presentations will cover Practitioner Training Programmes (PTP), the Scientist Training Programme (STP), non‑UK equivalence routes, Route 2, MPE/HSST pathways and local “grow your own” approaches from Band 3 through to Band 7. The meeting will conclude with an interactive round‑table discussion, providing an opportunity to reflect on lessons learned, share good practice and consider how different pathways can support a sustainable and flexible nuclear medicine workforce.
