Andy has worked in Nuclear Medicine for over 25 years and throughout this time he has been involved with training, acting as the Scientist training lead in three different centres across the country.

He has carried out the final assessment of trainees for over 15 years and was the Lead Editor for the development of the NSHCS STP Nuclear Medicine curriculum in 2020.

Andy has been an ACS Assessor for the Route 2 since 2021 and more recently has become an External Advisor for trainees on the IPEM CSGTS.

CSGTS External Advisor & Principal Clinical Scientist, Belfast Health and Social Care Trust

Dorota Ferguson is a Chartered Clinical Scientist with over 20 years’ experience in nuclear medicine, medical physics, and radiation protection within the UK healthcare system, providing specialist advice on the safe and effective use of ionising radiation across multiple Health and Social Care Trusts in Northern Ireland, through her roles as a Medical Physics Expert, Radiation Protection Adviser, and Radioactive Waste Adviser.

Her work spans clinical service delivery, optimisation, and governance, including dosimetry, radioactive waste management, regulatory oversight, focused on the patient and staff safety. Dorota also plays a key role as a staff trainer and mentor, supporting the development and supervision of other professionals within multidisciplinary teams.

She contributes to service development and quality improvement initiatives, promoting evidence-based practice and innovation within complex clinical environments. Alongside her clinical responsibilities, she supports national regulatory and governance activities and professional standards across healthcare and science, with a strong commitment to education, mentorship, and the public interest.
