The objective of the day is to empower staff involved in Ultrasound Quality Assurance (QA) to understand and perform appropriate testing on ultrasound scanners and their associated probes in line with IPEM guidance and current best practice.
The day will be split into two parts; the morning will include guidance around the current IPEM guidance (namely IPEM Report 102), regulations and legislation relating to Ultrasound QA, including screening programmes.
There will also be an overview of the equipment life cycle and where testing (acceptance, routine and ad hoc) fits into this. Plus knowledge exchange on troubleshooting and common faults.
The afternoon will include demonstrations and hands-on experience in testing multiple image modes.
NB - a basic level of ultrasound is required.
