IPEM Clinical Technologist Training Scheme

An External Moderator is a mentor and assessor on IPEM's Clinical Technologist Training Scheme. Moderators play a vital role in the success of trainees, guiding new trainees through their development by providing an external source of support. Key to the role is an enthusiasm for the training scheme and a desire to help progress the careers of those who are new to the profession.

Volunteering in this role strengthens your core professional skills such as leadership, communication, critical evaluation and the ability to provide constructive, evidence-based feedback. It also deepens reflective practice, as regularly reviewing others' performance encourages ongoing self-assessment, up-to-date subject knowledge, and alignment with professional standards. Together, these skills enhance your Continuing Professional Development.

Further details about the training scheme can be found here.
