Jonathan Cole, Royal Free London NHS FT

Jonathan Cole is a Principal Physicist and Medical Physics Expert at the Royal Free Hospital NHS Foundation Trust with nearly 20 years of experience in diagnostic radiology physics. He provides specialist support across general radiography, CT, interventional radiology, cardiology, vascular surgery and breast screening services. Jonathan is passionate about building a culture of innovation within medical physics, developing digital solutions for radiation safety and service improvement, and modernising workflows through tools like Python to enable staff at all levels to develop new approaches to clinical problems. He is chair of the Fluoroscopy Users' Group (FLUG), a Fellow of the British Institute of Radiology, and an IPEM External Advisor supporting trainees on the Clinical Scientist Guided Training Scheme (Route 2). He is deeply committed to education and training, having supervised numerous trainees across multiple schemes, focusing on embedding them within the department to tackle real-world problems from the start of their careers.

Matthew Rowlandson, Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS FT

Matt Rowlandson is Head of Clinical and Radiation Physics for the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust where he leads a team of clinical scientists and technologists who provide radiation protection advice and scientific support to nuclear medicine and diagnostic radiology across two NHS foundation trusts. Previously he worked in the Regional Radiation Protection Service based at the Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust in Guildford where he supported several NHS trusts and private healthcare providers, offering radiation protection advice and medical physics support to a wide selection of services. Matt is the chair of the DR SIG and hopes to drive the agenda of DR physics forward to think about how we can best engage with the community to prepare for a changing landscape, with AI, technological advancements and digital improvements.
