Webinar: AI Reconstruction in CT and Nuclear Medicine: Exploring New Challenges in Testing and QA

AI‑informed image reconstruction is rapidly emerging in clinical CT and PET/NM, offering improvements in image quality, scan speed, and dose reduction. ...ongoing quality assurance.

AI-informed image reconstruction is increasingly being introduced into clinical CT and nuclear medicine / PET, offering potential benefits in image quality, speed, and dose reduction. However, these developments raise important questions for medical physicists, radiographers and technologists around acceptance testing, optimisation, and ongoing quality assurance. Many established approaches assume transparent, predictable algorithms, assumptions that may no longer hold in systems driven by AI.

This webinar will take a high-level look at current AI reconstruction technologies and open up discussion on the practical and conceptual challenges they pose. Through shared experiences from both CT and PET/NM implementations, we will explore what is known, where uncertainties remain, and how our testing frameworks might need to adapt.
