James Scuffham, Royal Surrey NHS FT
James is a Consultant Clinical Scientist and Head of Nuclear Medicine Physics at the Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust. James leads a team of medical physicists who provide scientific support to clinical nuclear medicine services both within the NHS and private sector. The Royal Surrey Nuclear Medicine department recently achieved UKAS accreditation against both BS70000 (Medical Physics and Clinical Engineering) and Quality Standards in Imaging (QSI), having been a pilot site for the new BS70000 standard. James led this project, and is able to offer insights into the practical challenges of preparing for accreditation for the first time, the assessment process, and the benefits that accreditation can bring to clinical departments.
Gilda Stubbs, UKAS
Gilda is a Senior Assessment Manager with United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS). Gilda has worked at UKAS since 2015, starting as an assessment manager during the CPA to ISO 15189:2012 transition. Gilda has experience in working with various accreditation standards including ISO 15189:2022, BS 70000:2017, which she has applied to drive continuous improvement and ensure compliance in complex healthcare environments. Gilda has worked with services at all stages through their accreditation journey from planning for accreditation to extending scopes of accreditation and ongoing maintenance and renewal of accreditation.
