I am a Brazilian physicist with a master's degree in radiation protection and have completed a multidisciplinary residency programme in medical physics, specialising in nuclear medicine.

In 2023, I joined the Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust as a research scientist and later achieved HCPC registration as a clinical scientist through the international route. In my current role as dosimetry lead physicist, I work alongside medical physics experts (MPEs) to support the delivery of molecular radiotherapy (MRT) and provide medical physics support to external centres. Overall, my work includes patient-specific dosimetry, clinical software validation, image processing, uncertainty analysis, and the optimisation of dosimetry workflows for radionuclide therapies.

Alongside my clinical role, I am the joint project coordinator for the UK Internal Dosimetry Users Group (IDUG), where I also support the development of dosimetry training programmes. In addition, I have been nominated as co-lead of Working Group 4 within the European RATIONALE project, focusing on theragnostic dosimetry.

Anne-Marie Stapleton, Royal Surrey NHS FT

Anne-Marie Stapleton is a Consultant Clinical Scientist and Deputy Head of Nuclear Medicine Physics (Therapeutics) at Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust. A registered Medical Physics Expert, she has played a leading role in the implementation and expansion of Lu-177 PSMA therapy services across the NHS and independent sector, supporting the growth of therapeutic nuclear medicine services in the UK.

Alongside her clinical and strategic leadership responsibilities, Anne-Marie is actively involved in national professional groups, including the IPEM Nuclear Medicine Specialist Interest Group and the BNMS Molecular Radiotherapy Consortium, and she chairs a national Lu-177 working group.

Anne-Marie's own career journey has been shaped by alternative professional routes. She trained as a Clinical Scientist through the Route 2 pathway, obtained Medical Physics Expert status through portfolio assessment, and achieved Higher Specialist Scientist registration via the equivalence route. Drawing on these experiences, she is a strong advocate for flexible training pathways and workforce development, and is committed to helping future generations of scientists navigate rewarding careers in nuclear medicine.
