1. How did you feel the MPE and How to Get IT course went? Did it meet your expectations?
The "MPE and How to Get It" course was exceptionally well-structured, providing a comprehensive and detailed overview of the essential requirements for achieving Medical Physics Expert (MPE) registration in the UK. The interactive breakout sessions were particularly valuable, offering highly practical guidance on how to systematically build a robust portfolio for future submission. Overall, the program fully satisfied my expectations from both an educational and practical perspective, and I highly recommend it to any professional navigating the MPE registration process.
2. What did you like about the course?
The dedicated Q&A sessions were a standout feature of the course, providing an exceptionally insightful forum where every attendee query was thoroughly addressed. These interactive discussions offered invaluable clarity, establishing realistic expectations and delivering detailed feedback on what to include and what to avoid throughout the portfolio submission process.
3. What did you learn/take away from the course?
While the course was exceptionally thorough and left no room for dissatisfaction, future iterations could be further enhanced by incorporating sample portfolios into the webinars. Viewing successfully structured examples would provide attendees with a clearer, more precise benchmark for organizing their own content, ultimately helping to minimize the risk of submission rejections.
4. Following the course what have you decided your next step will be with MPE?
Following my recent MSc in Medical Physics, I successfully secured a role as a Clinical Technologist in Radiotherapy Physics. My immediate professional focus is to enter the Scientist Training Programme (STP) to achieve Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration. Concurrently, I am proactively maintaining my Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and systematically documenting my clinical work and project involvements. This strategic approach ensures I am steadily building the necessary foundation to pursue Medical Physics Expert (MPE) registration later in my career. Moving forward, I intend to engage with further professional development courses and actively network with experienced peers across the UK clinical engineering and physics communities.
