Introduction
Following the publication in 2024 of the updated Security Requirements for Radioactive Sources from the National Counter Terrorism Security Office (NaCTSO), IPEM have identified a need to share learning of good practices on compliance with these guidelines and give colleagues the opportunity to ask questions of the Environment Agency on them. We have arranged a national webinar to take place.
Due to the sensitive and confidential nature of the publication and our facilities, we have to be really careful in how we run this webinar. We need to make sure we don’t divulge any key security information of our premises or facilities.
What do we need from you?
We are asking you to share your local good practices, top tips and key learnings that you have gained from your own experiences of installing or upgrading your facility in line with the guidelines. Additionally, what would you like to know? What burning questions have you got for an EA inspector involved in inspecting such facilities?
Please complete the form in the attached link to share your good practice or ask a question of the Environment Agency.
Please do not include any security sensitive information in your offerings and questions – we won’t be able to include it in the webinar. This includes:
• Your institution
• Specific site security arrangements
• Specifics of the Security Requirements document
The questions will be vetted by the webinar organisers and it’s possible that some questions may not be able to be answered; this will be at the Environment Agency’s discretion. Answers to all questions will be pre-prepared and, due to the risk of sharing confidential information, we will not be able to take questions live during the webinar. So please take the opportunity now to ask things you need to know!
We look forward to hearing from you.
