60 Second Interview

Take a minute out of your day to read an interview from a previous attendee about their experience of How to Support Aspiring MPEs

Jonathan Bowden

Jonathan Bowden

Head of Radiotherapy Physics, NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde

1. How did you feel the course went?  Did it meet your expectations?Yes, it was useful and collaborative. Representation was good from various departments and levels of practice

2. What did you like about the course?Quite informal and easy to contribute to (i.e. not intimidating). Diverse participants allowing for rich and fruitful conversation

3. What did you take away from the course? It appeared that level of formal or informal support within different departments is quite different, most 'mentors' have come up with their own way of supporting aspiring MPEs

4. Following the course have you used some of your learning  to help support your aspiring MPE/s?Yes, one of the presenters mentioned tracking evidence gathering in a spreadsheet to make it easier to keep track of progress, I am now using a similar spreadsheet myself and it has made a big difference. I am also an MPE assessor and use the spreadsheet to link evidence against competencies to judge the number of quality of evidence provided for each competency
