Dr Adam Julius

Anaesthetic Registrar

Adam is an anaesthetic registrar (ST7) in the North Central London School of Anaesthesia and a Topol Digital Health Fellow. He previously held a national Health Education England Clinical Fellowship in Artificial Intelligence (Cohort 1), through which he developed expertise in natural language processing, large language models, and clinical AI deployment.

He is the Principal Investigator for ULTRA-CTS, a UCLH Charity-funded project applying computer vision and machine learning to ultrasound diagnosis of carpal tunnel syndrome, and is preparing a prospective clinical study arising from the programme. He has recently been awarded an InnovateMD Fellowship for the ULTRA-CTS project. Alongside his clinical and research work, Adam is an Honorary Lecturer on the UCL MSc in Perioperative Medicine, where he leads the module on AI in Anaesthesia and Perioperative Medicine, and co-developed one of the UK's first deployed generative AI tools within a medical royal college.

Dr Louise Wilkinson

Consultant Radiologist

Dr Wilkinson is a consultant breast radiologist at Oxford Breast Imaging Centre who works with the national team supporting delivery and quality assurance of the breast imaging programme. She has an interest in the challenges of introducing AI into the breast screening and symptomatic services.

Dr Jonathan Taylor

Consultant Clinical Scientist

Jonathan Taylor is a Consultant Clinical Scientist at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals and an Honorary Lecturer at the University of Sheffield. His role spans Nuclear Medicine, where he practises as a Medical Physics Expert, and the Sheffield 3D Lab, a centralised hospital service for advanced image quantification, visualisation and 3D modelling.

He completed a PhD in 2019 through an NIHR Fellowship, focusing on machine learning in Nuclear Medicine. Since then, he has led the development, evaluation and clinical deployment of multiple AI applications, ranging from automated MUGA processing and chest X-ray classification to MRI kidney volumetry. His current work includes contributing to Sheffield’s AI and Imaging governance group, helping to shape how new digital tools are evaluated, implemented and monitored across the trust.

Nationally, Jonathan is co-chair of IPEM’s AI Group, working with colleagues across the UK to advance safe and effective adoption of AI in healthcare.

Dr Matt Rowlandson

Head of Clinical and Radiation Physics

Dr Matt Rowlandson is Head of Clinical and Radiation Physics for the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust where he leads a team of clinical scientists and technologists who provide radiation protection advice and scientific support to nuclear medicine and diagnostic radiology across two NHS foundation trusts. Previously he worked in the Regional Radiation Protection Service based at the Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust in Guildford where he supported several NHS trusts and private healthcare providers, offering radiation protection advice and medical physics support to a wide selection of services. He is chair of the DR SIG and is involved in various networks where he is try improve the practice of imaging physics, including an active interest in AI and its applications.
