Science Leadership Day
This full day event in York will bring together IPEM volunteers to build on themes from the Science Leadership Strategy published last year. With a mixture of workshops and discussion the aim is to produce a shared vision for the future of IPEM and the professions it represents, and determine the steps to help us achieve it.
In 2022, IPEM published a Science Leadership Strategy, which highlights 6 factors IPEM believes will shape the future operating environment for Healthcare Scientists.
One year after its launch, this one day event will bring together a group of IPEM volunteers to engage across different specialisms, sectors, interests and career stages and explore the risks and opportunities that lie ahead for medical physics and clinical engineering. The day will comprise two facilitated workshops, using futures and foresight techniques to horizon scan and explore different scenarios. Please indicate your preference for each breakout session theme below.
The afternoon session will build on the morning small-group breakouts to develop the themes from the Science Strategy and create a shared vision for the future of IPEM and the professions it represents. From this we will agree our priorities as a member organisation and determine actionable steps to create a strong and sustainable future for medical physics, clinical engineering, and the supporting R&D and deployment ecosystem.
Breakout session workshops are themed around the Grand Challenges from the Science Leadership Strategy. When booking, please indicate your preference by ranking 1 (first preference) – 3 (least preference). We will endeavour to accommodate preference where possible while achieving representation across sectors, specialisms and career stages in each session.
