Clinical Risk Management Foundation Course October 2023

The course will be delivered by NHS Digital exclusively for IPEM members, who are working in the NHS. This one day course hosted by IPEM on 24th October 2023 via Zoom.
The course covers DCB0129: Clinical Risk Management: its Application in the Manufacture of Health IT Systems and DCB0160: Clinical Risk Management: its Application in the Deployment and Use of Health IT Systems.
This course may be of interest to clinical scientists, engineers and technologists involved in clinical software development, upgrades to existing IT systems, implementation of new IT systems, and those with responsibility for the day to day management or governance of clinical IT systems. This may be an opportunity for MPEs responsible for computer systems to develop their skillset.
Being a dedicated IPEM course this is also an opportunity to start developing a network of Clinical Safety Officers within the MPCE community. Details of the regular course are available on the NHS Digital website:

The course is available to IPEM members who are working in the NHS, at a cost of £399.00 (VAT not applicable).
The course is delivered remotely, and consists of completion of an e-learning course, ten pre-recorded modules and a training day. The training day focusses on practical workshops, activities and discussion.
Completion of the Clinical Risk Management e-learning sessions and watching of the pre-recorded modules are essential prior to attending the course.
The e-learning is available free of charge to NHS employees via the e-Learning for Healthcare (e-LfH) hub. Those with an NHS email address can access any e-LfH programme with an e-LfH account. If you don't have an account, then you can register by selecting the 'Register' button on the right hand side of the e-LfH homepage. Those without an NHS email account can purchase access to the e-learning.
If you already have an account with e-LfH, then you can enrol on the Clinical Safety Programme by logging in to the e-LfH hub, selecting My Account > Enrolment and selecting the Clinical Risk Management programme. You can then access the Clinical Risk Management e-Learning sessions immediately in the My e-Learning section.
The pre-recorded modules will be released once a copy of the delegate's e-learning certificate has been received, and receipt of the pre-recorded modules is required in advance of the course day.
The course will run on 24th October 2023 from approximately 9.30am and will finish no later than 4pm.
