Degree accreditation is undertaken by sector specific professional engineering institutions (PEIs) under licence from the Engineering Council. These institutions interpret the standards as appropriate for their own sector of the profession and use them when deciding whether degree programmes meet the requirements to be awarded ‘Engineering Council accredited degree' status.
IPEM, as a PEI, takes part in accreditation visits of undergraduate degree programmes arranged by the Engineering Council's Engineering Accreditation Board (EAB). Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) seeking accreditation by three or more PEIs submit an application to the EAB and request a joint visit for the purpose of accrediting their programme(s) against the UK-SPEC requirements for IEng and CEng qualifications.
For the latest information on programmes accredited by IPEM via EAB please visit the Engineering Council's 'Accredited Course Search' webpage of their Academic Course Accreditation Database (ACAD) here and search for IPEM using the 'PEI Ref' drop-down box.
