IPEM accredits a number of degree programmes in medical physics and biomedical engineering. Accreditation is independent recognition by IPEM, as the UK professional body for physics and engineering in medicine, that a university course meets defined educational standards and has a suitable learning environment for its students.
Accreditation involves independent scrutiny by IPEM using appointed assessors at periodic review periods with IPEM accreditation normally awarded over several subsequent years. Awards are subject to the HEI undertaking specified framework activities, such as an annual audit return, and implementing any changes requested by a panel during this period.
Accreditation panels expect to liaise directly with programme directors. Comments received from students will be accepted only as part of the regular, periodic review of a course or programme.
A new framework for Masters programmes - the Masters Level Accreditation Framework (MLAF) - has been developed by IPEM. For full details about the process please contact firstname.lastname@example.org

IPEM, as a Professional Engineering Institution (PEI), takes part in accreditation visits of undergraduate degree programmes arranged by the EAB. Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) seeking accreditation by three or more PEIs submit an application to the EAB and request a joint visit for the purpose of accrediting their undergraduate programme(s) against the UK-SPEC requirements for IEng and CEng qualifications.
For the latest information on programmes accredited by IPEM via EAB please visit the Engineering Council's Accredited Course Search (ACAD) webpage here.
