IPEM features in national imaging campaign

A NATIONAL campaign about the vital role imaging plays in modern healthcare has been launched.

The ‘Future of Imaging’ campaign was launched by Mediaplanet as a supplement in the Guardian newspaper and the Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine featured as part of it.

IPEM member Jim Thurston, who is Head of Radiation Protection and Dosimetry at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London, was interviewed for the campaign.

A member of IPEM’s Radiation Protection Special Interest Group, Mr Thurston spoke about the protection of both patients and medical staff in relation to exposure to radiation as part of imaging.

The supplement will be given away at various conferences and events in the coming months.
