Retired IPEM members invited to return to the profession

THE Health and Care Professions Council are inviting recently retired healthcare scientists to return during the Covid-19 crisis.

A temporary register of professionals who have left the HCPC register during the last three years are being asked to re-register onto a temporary Covid-19 register once emergency legislation has been passed.

Final year students on the Scientist Training Programme who have completed all their clinical practice placements, are also being invited to join the temporary register.

Professor Stephen O’Connor, IPEM President, said: ‘There is no obligation placed on anyone who is added to the temporary register to return to work. I am confident, however, that all IPEM members will do what they can to support the frontline healthcare workers in this fight.’
