Marie Curie: The movie

A FILM about the life of one of the pioneers of research on radioactivity is due to open in cinemas across the UK.

Radioactive tells the story of Marie Sklodowska-Curie and is based on the graphic novel 'Radioactive: Marie & Pierre Curie: A Tale of Love and Fallout', by Lauren Redniss. It opens in cinemas on 20 March and stars Oscar-nominated actor Rosamund Pike as Marie Curie.

The International Day of Medical Physics (IDMP), which takes place on 7 November every year, marks the day in 1867 when Marie Sklodowska-Curie was born in Poland.

To coincide with the launch of the film, IPEM members could order ‘The Science & the Scientists’ radiotherapy posters and leaflets and perhaps approach their local cinema to see if it would consider putting up the poster.

You can watch the trailer for the film on YouTube here.
