President of EAMBES sets out his vision

AN IPEM Fellow and President of the European Alliance for Medical and Biological Engineering & Science has set out his vision and priorities for the coming years.

Professor Panicos Kyriacou, Associate Dean in the School of Engineering and Mathematical Studies at City University in London, was elected President of EAMBES earlier this year.

He has now set out his vision for the organisation for the coming years, including:

  • Continuing to raise awareness and educate people that are in key policy making positions within Europe on the nature and remit of the profession and its contribution to society
  • Bring together professionals from both medicine and life sciences and STEM subjects to discuss the latest advances and challenges to influence decision and policy making within the EU
  • Enable networking among different academic, industry and policy leaders, and encourage best practice across Europe
  • Promote the impact of physics and engineering in healthcare through organising international conferences, symposia and other scientific meetings.
