Letter to Prime Minister warns of potential damage to UK and USA scientific communities

A LETTER has been sent to the Prime Minister warning that the longstanding and mutually beneficial partnership between the UK and USA scientific communities is under threat.

Dr Sarah Main, Executive Director of the Campaign for Science and Engineering (CaSE), of which IPEM is a member, has written to Theresa May to warn the ties between the scientific communities in the two countries might be damaged by President Donald Trump’s executive order on immigration.

She also points out in her letter to the Prime Minister that a wider restrictive approach to migration, in both the UK and America, could be to the detriment of the UK’s scientific strength.
