Artificial Intelligence in MRI

18 November 2020

online

Organised by IPEM's Magnetic Resonance Special Interest Group

We appear to be on the cusp of a range of artificial intelligence techniques penetrating healthcare, with methods in some areas now demonstrating human, expert-like performance. MRI is no exception to this with AI methods are now becoming available for image segmentation, image interpretation and image reconstruction.
The purpose of this meeting is to give an overview on the current status of AI techniques applied to MR data and images and to explore developments that are likely to become clinically available in the near future.
The meeting will seek to explore the infrastructure and expertise required to deploy these methods in the clinical environment: a cookbook for investigating and deploying AI tools in MRI.
The meeting will further seek to discuss the role of the Clinical Scientist in scrutinising and facilitating these methods for clinical use, with matters such as staff training, standardisation, governance and quality control being considered.
We hope this will be an exciting and vibrant meeting on a topical issue which will be of interest to a wide range of clinical and academic scientists, clinicians and interested radiographers.
