Monday 15th and Tuesday 16th July 2019The Heads of Radiotherapy Meeting is being held in Shrewsbury on 15th and 16th July 2019. The meeting is for all UK heads of department and will cover a range of subjects; but of note, the consultation on the Radiotherapy Service Specification will have a joint presentation by Kim Fell, Chris Walker and John Sage plus a 30 minute discussion. There will be an update from the IPEM president, Mark Tooley, the chair of RTSIG, Steve Weston and a proton service update from Manchester and London. Marcel van Herk will give an extended presentation on his vision for the future of radiotherapy and Margaret Bidmead will update us on the MR linac.Other subjects will include workforce planning, extended hours working and an update on MPE accreditation.If the Head of Radiotherapy Physics is unable to attend, a Deputy may attend instead, although unfortunately we won’t be able to accommodate more than one delegate per Radiotherapy Physics Department.This meeting is kindly sponsored by Elekta and Varian.
