The Leeds Teaching Hopsitals NHS Trust

The Radiological Physics and Radiation Protection Section is part of the Medical Physics and Clinical Engineering Department at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (LTHT), one of the largest trusts within the country. We are looking for an experienced, motivated and enthusiastic Radiation Protection Adviser to join the service. The post holder will be working closely with the other Radiation Protection Advisers within LTHT and will play the lead role in ensuring the delivery of a high quality radiation protection service for users of ionising radiation both within LTHT and to other neighbouring NHS Trusts. 

This post is based within the Radiological Physics and Radiation Protection section.  The section comprises a team of clinical scientists and clinical technologists who provide scientific support, quality assurance testing and associated services to Radiology departments both within LTHT and other NHS and private organisations across Yorkshire.

Applicants should be state registered clinical scientists and certified Radiation Protection Advisers (RPA) with extensive experience in the provision of radiation protection advice and have sufficient knowledge and experience to be able to act in the role of a Medical Physics Expert in diagnostic radiology.

This post will be based at the Leeds General Infirmary although travel and work at other sites throughout Yorkshire will be required. Working hours will be 37.5 per week although start and finish times may be varied to ensure that the team covers the core hours required, which are typically 8am-5pm Monday to Friday.

Leeds General Infirmary is located in the centre of Leeds which is a major northern city with excellent shopping, restaurant, sport, music and culture facilities. Leeds enjoys close proximity to the Yorkshire Dales and other national parks as well as being within easy travelling distance of East and West coast seaside resorts. There are also excellent transport links with the rest of the UK and further afield by road, rail and air.
