Salary: Band 7:  £37,570-£43,772 pa

Hours: f/t 37.5 pw

This is an exciting opportunity to join the team providing the Nuclear Medicine and 3D Imaging Laboratory (3DLab) services to Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (STH). In addition, this team provides Nuclear Medicine scientific support to other NHS Trusts in Sheffield, Chesterfield, Barnsley and Doncaster, to the local PET-CT provider, and to the University of Sheffield PET/MR scanning centre. 

The Nuclear Medicine service at STH is a large and comprehensive service with expertise in imaging, non-imaging and therapy; 6,000 investigations are undertaken per year. It is a four-camera department with a dedicated radionuclide therapy suite at the Weston Park Hospital site. The department also has a strong record of involvement with a number of local, national and international research trials.

The 3DLab at STH is a leader in the field for the UK providing bespoke and routine advanced image processing and visualisation analysis for CT, MR, PET and SPECT imaging for a range of clinical and research applications. It is also developing additive manufacturing capabilities to support surgical treatment planning working alongside academic and engineering partners.

The successful candidate will provide scientific support as part of this team, working alongside other Clinical Scientists and with the larger multidisciplinary team providing the services.

Candidates will be state registered Clinical Scientists specialising in nuclear medicine who have demonstrated an ability to work both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Appointment at pre-registration level may be considered for candidates nearing completion of STP training / able to obtain registration on completion.
