SENIOR MEDICAL PHYSICIST

We a seeking a Senior Medical Physicist with experience in radiotherapy physics to lead a grant-funded research project in the domain of radiation oncology. The role will involve leading a team of researchers at Mirada to develop new technology for this domain and liaising with external collaborators involved in the wider project. This role is within the Science and Medical Technology research group, which is at the heart of new developments within the company. Our research interests include registration, multi-modality image analysis and advanced quantification of image data. Recently we developed a Deep Learning based auto-contouring product to support radiotherapy workflows and we are seeking experienced candidates to join this effort to broaden the application of machine learning methods in healthcare.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Algorithm research and development

• Research project management

• Line management

• Supporting external/clinical research collaborations

• Writing technical reports

• Helping to build an IP portfolio

• Publication of research results

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential Skills

• MSc level or higher degree in a computational/scientific discipline

• Experience in Medical Physics / Radiotherapy physics

• Proven track record in research

• Excellent algorithmic implementation skills

• Capable of working both individually and within a team

• Excellent communication skills

Advantageous Skills

• Radiation dose calculation methods

• Experience with Monte Carlo methods

• Good working knowledge of DICOM

• Knowledge of any of Python/C++/Java/MatLab

• Experience with GPU programming
