Current salary scale for these supernumerary trainee posts is ‘AfC’ Band 6.

Trainees will each be given a contract of employment, starting at the beginning of September 2019 with one of the Scottish departments.  Medical Physics Trainees will register on the Scottish Training Scheme and, in their first year of employment, study for an MSc degree at Aberdeen or Glasgow University.  In the subsequent years of employment, trainees will be based in Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow or Inverness.

Sponsorship will be required for applicants from outside the EEA. We will not be able to get Sponsorship for an applicant if the post can be filled by a UK or EEA resident and therefore are unlikely to consider applicants resident outside the EEA area. Unless they evidence entitlement to work in the UK without restrictions.
