Applications are invited to join our dynamic, forward thinking, and friendly team as Head of Radiotherapy Physics.

Radiotherapy Physics provides a comprehensive clinical physics service to the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre, which is one of the largest UK cancer treatment centres providing radiotherapy treatment for more than 7,000 patients per annum in the west of Scotland. Its main base is at Gartnavel General Hospital, Glasgow with a Satellite Facility located at Monklands Hospital in Airdrie.

The Cancer Centre operates thirteen linear accelerators, including eleven Varian TrueBeam systems, with a wide range of specialised VMAT planning techniques including SABR for a wide range of clinical sites, all delivered using FFF technology. We are a world-leading site in the implementation of model-based optimisation algorithms. Recent developments include the instalment of a Varian Ethos™ adaptive radiotherapy system.

The Head of Service leads, manages and is responsible for the comprehensive scientific and technical service provided by the Radiotherapy Physics service to the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre. You will empower your team to deliver high quality and innovative patient care through providing strategic leadership and promoting a culture of inclusivity and continuous improvement. This post is within the Department of Clinical Physics and Bio-engineering (DCPB).
