Honorary Fellowship 

Honorary fellowship is awarded for outstanding contributions in the field of physics or engineering applied to medicine or related biological science. Up to and including September 2010, 52 Honorary fellows or equivalent have been appointed to IPEM and its forerunner Professor Heinz Wolfforganisations. Currently there are 18 alive.

The most recently appointed is Professor Heinz Wolff.

full list of Honorary fellows includes: 

  • Famous names from early 20th Century physics and engineering
  • Doctors who have recognised and nurtured the contribution of physical sciences and engineering to the practice of medicine
  • Names that are remembered in textbooks and come up in trainee exams
  • Fellows of the Royal Society
  • Names of people with few formal qualifications but great imagination and drive
  • Those of great moral character and leadership
  • Those who have given faithful and dedicated service
