Audit

IPEM will audit a percentage of CPD Registrants each year.

Audits are undertaken both to enable advice and guidance to be given to individual registrants and enable evidence of good practice to be promulgated throughout the profession.

Audit Process

End of March

For those selected for audit, submission of CPD summary on the appropriate form is requested.

If you are selected it may help to view an example of an acceptable Form C2.

End of April

If CPD summary is not received from those selected for audit, a reminder letter is sent.

June

If, after having been selected for audit, and after subsequent scrutiny of the submitted evidence by the Professional Development Panel (PDP), the submission is acceptable, these individuals will be informed of the outcome, possibly with advice for future CPD activities.

June

If, after having been selected for audit and after subsequent scrutiny of the submitted evidence by PDP, the submission is unacceptable, these individuals are informed of the outcome, together with reasons for their submissions being unacceptable.  These individuals have 28 days to respond.

If, after further information is submitted, the submitted evidence remains unacceptable, then the individual concerned will be audited the following year with the reasons explained.  In the absence of exceptional extenuating circumstances, any individual whose CPD submissions are unacceptable on two successive years will be removed form the IPEM CPD scheme.

If the individual selected for audit is a CSci and no submission is received for CPD for two years then the CSci Registrar will be informed.

More details of the audit process can be found in annex 2 of the CPD guidance notes.
