Professional Matters

A professional person is someone who has acquired a body of knowledge and competences  through specialised education and training (Initial Professional Development).  This signifies the acquisition of knowledge and competences through Professional Membership and Registration, and who maintains and updates relevant knowledge and competences through Continuing Professional Development  while ensuring they conform IPEM's Professional Conduct code.

IPEM's professional development activities are undertaken in the context of the different work areas in which its members are engaged, which include healthcare, academe and healthcare industries.  In addition to specific training schemes and scientific meetings which IPEM organises, IPEM's Prizes and Awards Committee may give support to individuals for specific personal development activities and recognises excellence of achievement through the award of Institute prizes.
