Government and Science Policies

IPEM is assisting with government policies in many different ways. IPEM members are part of relevant committees, science groups and government consultation processes.  Most parliamentarians do not have a scientific or technological background but science and technology issues are increasingly integral to public policy.

We sponsor the Science in Parliament Magazine which is the journal of the Parliamentary and Scientific Committee and can be downloaded here for free. It has two main objectives:
  1. to inform the scientific and industrial communities of activities within Parliament of a scientific nature and of the progress of relevant legislation;
  2. to keep Members of Parliament abreast of scientific affairs.
