Medical Physics and Engineering Conference 2012 – Call for Papers 

The Medical Physics and Engineering Conference 2012 (MPEC 2012) will be held at the University's Examination Halls in Oxford from 10th to 12th September 2012.

 

This year the theme is "Fusion: Bringing together techniques and technologies to enhance patient care".

This is the annual scientific meeting of IPEM and provides the ideal forum to achieve the Institute’s charitable aims by bringing together physical science, engineering and clinical professionals working in academia, healthcare services and industry to share and disseminate knowledge.

 

Examination Halls, OxfordOver three days, the conference will cover a wide variety of topics as well as the usual IPEM eponymous lectures and sessions for trainees.

 

Abstracts are now being invited from Clinical Scientists, Clinical Technologists, Trainees, Academics, Radiographers, Medical staff and scientific and technical staff working in industry.

 

Contributions in the following areas are particularly welcomed:

 

- Cloud computing and applications for scientific services

- Cost-efficient and meaningful QA

- Dosimetry

- European dimension eg: BSS Revision and EMF directive

- Imaging in dementia, oncology, peripheral vascular, lung and cardiac

- Patient safety for medical devices and for ionising and non-ionising radiation

- Radiobiological effects

- Sports science

- Telemedicine

 

Contributions on the wider aspects of science are also welcome eg:  future visions of healthcare, leadership, science communications, education and training
