£21,528 – £34,189
The Nuclear Medicine Physics Section of the Portsmouth Medical Physics Department is seeking to appoint a Specialist Medical Physics Technologist. This post would suit a technologist or radiographer with experience in non-imaging nuclear medicine and radionuclide therapy.
The Nuclear Medicine Physics team are a friendly enthusiastic team of clinical scientists and medical physics technologists providing comprehensive physics support, particularly to Oncology and Nuclear Medicine Department, as well as performing non-imaging tests and radionuclide therapy.
The Nuclear Medicine Department is equipped with three gamma cameras, gamma and beta counters and extensive computing facilities, some sited within Nuclear Medicine Physics. Portsmouth Hospitals continues advancing in medical imaging technology, particularly since the opening of the redeveloped Queen Alexandra Hospital in 2009, with new Nuclear Medicine department having latest SPECT/CT and PET/CT imaging systems.
You must have a science degree or equivalent qualification. Preference will be given to applicants with IV administration skills or comprehensive nuclear medicine experience however consideration will be given to candidates with less experience or qualifications. Funding for appropriate further study may be available.
Portsmouth is a historic seaside city with mild sunny climate, miles of beaches, many cultural, sporting and leisure amenities. The city has excellent road and rail link to London, ferries to the continent and nearby international airport. Relocation expenses may be available to qualifying candidates.
