DEPARTMENT OF MEDICAL PHYSICS AND CLINICAL ENGINEERING

RADIOTHERAPY PHYSICS GROUP

The following posts are based in the Radiotherapy Physics Group at the Oxford Cancer Centre at the Churchill Hospital, which opened in 2009. This purpose-built facility includes six multi-mode Varian linear accelerators (all with IMRT capability and respiratory gating, two with on-board imaging), CT virtual simulator, Acuity Simulator CT and Varian Eclipse treatment planning systems. Brachytherapy treatment is provided by a PDR system. The centre is supported by a full range of imaging modalities including MRI and PET. There are significant opportunities for collaborative research with the University of Oxford, in particular with the Gray Institute for Radiation Oncology and Biology (ROB).
