Clinical Scientist in Nuclear Medicine
Band 8a
Regional Medical Physics Service

Applications are invited for the post of Principal Clinical Scientist within the Radioisotope Service of the Regional Medical Physics Service. The service is located on both the Royal Victoria and Belfast City Hospital sites. The service is equipped with 4 gamma cameras, a PET/CT scanner and a cyclotron radiopharmaceutical facility. The successful candidate will be based in the Belfast City Hospital Cancer Centre and join a team of clinical scientists and technologists in the provision of diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine services to the Belfast Health & Social Care Trust along with regional MPE services to nuclear medicine departments in trusts across Northern Ireland.  Support for the radiopharmaceutical production services provided by the radioisotope section at the Royal Victoria Hospital may also be required.

Applicants for both posts must have a strong radiotherapy/nuclear medicine physics background as required.  Both posts will require a flexible approach to working hours.

Strong research links have been developed with Queen's University, Belfast and the successful candidate for both posts may be required to participate in new and ongoing R&D projects.
