A fixed term vacancy has arisen for a Registered Clinical Scientist/Electronic Engineer with an engineering/clinical service background. The post would suit either a recently registered or experienced clinical scientist/electronics engineer.
The main role will to support electronic design for the medical device innovation group but it would also be desirable to provide some input to the human movement analysis services. The section is accredited to the ISO:13485 and 9001 Quality Management standard and is certified to CE mark its medical devices. It is essential to have a pragmatic approach to in house design and development of novel electronic/mechanical equipment, an understanding of safety standards and quality systems and the ability to project manage. Human movement analysis skills would be an advantage. Clinical service roles may include other physiological measurements. Opportunities exist, working in collaboration with clinical colleagues and other medical professionals, to participate in both clinical and laboratory based research activities. Trainees close to completing their Part 2 training will be considered.
