Come and work on the border of leafy Buckinghamshire your post will be based at Mount Vernon Hospital, which is sited in the green belt of North West London. The Diagnostic Radiology/Radiation Protection Section is a small section within a large Physics and Bio-engineering Department (50 + staff).

We are seeking an enthusiastic physicist to join the section, which offers a physics support service to the East and North Hertfordshire Trust for both diagnostic radiology and radiotherapy imaging.  The section also provides a service to other nearby NHS Trusts, dental clinics and the health control unit of Heathrow airport.

You will participate in the, commissioning and routine testing of x-ray equipment, and in the provision of patient dosimetry. You will also assist with training radiographers in x-ray QA and the legislation surrounding the use of ionising radiation. Knowledge of CT scanning would be welcome as the section is involved in CT QA for a research project.

The applicant is expected to have a higher degree in medical /radiation physics and to be working towards, or have, HPC registration as a Clinical Scientist. Some previous experience and knowledge of diagnostic radiology is required.  We are happy to, and have experience in, providing appropriate training to support pre-registration appointees in their application for HPC registration.
