Charter

1. Membership
   • Chairman appointed by the AC
   • Editor of MBEC
   • Deputy - Editor
   • Secretary General of IFMBE
   • Chair of Publications and Publicity Committee
   • Treasurer of IFMBE
   • Three other members.

   The By - Laws say:
   The membership of the committee shall consist of a Chairman and three other members, normally chosen from membership of the Member Society of the country in which the Journal is published; the Editor and Deputy-Editor; the Chairman of the Publications Committee and the Treasurer of the Federation.

   The committee aims to achieve as wide a geographical representation as possible in its membership.

2. Term of Appointment
   Appointment is for three years. This membership will be overlapping with the membership reviewed annually.

3. Committee function, scope and responsibilities
   The By - Laws say:
   The Federation Journal Committee (FJC) will be responsible for all aspects, except editorial, of the journal of the Federation and of related publications, published by the Federation.

4. Responsibilities of the Chair
   The By - Laws say:
   The position of Editor of the Journal of the Federation shall be filled when required by vote of the Administrative Council, on a recommendation of a Special Committee set up for the purpose by the Chairman of the Federation Journal Committee.
   From time to time it will be necessary to appoint a Deputy Editor; the same procedure of appointment will be followed in his or her case as in that of the Editor.

5. Procedure and Timetable
   The committee will meet on two occasions each year.
   It reports to the Administrative Council of IFMBE.
