Are you helping with an Open Day or Career Event?
If you are involved in a career event or open day (e.g. in a school or as part of a hospital-wide event) we can provide you with career information material free of charge.
- Career leaflets describing actual jobs our members do in a range of subjects
- Posters on: Nuclear Medicine, Radiotherapy, Xrays and Ultrasound, MRI and Clinical Engineering (see the Resources for Teachers page)
- Our Spotlight brochures providing more insight into a specific topic (see the IPEM Free Publications page)
- General “Apply your degree to Physics & Engineering in Medicine and Biology” poster which also comes as a larger pop up banner stand
- Primary School kids: Hands on activity simulating X-rays with light sensitive paper
- Secondary School activity (requires an Ultrasound machine): “funny phantoms” (toblerone bar etc) which you can use if you have an old ultrasound machine children can try out
- A table top skeleton
- Balloons, bags and pens
- Ready made lectures and resources for teachers (see the Resources for Teachers page)
For IPEM Members we also have Small Grants eg for a prize if you want to have a competition (guess the weight of a lead apron?), travel expenses or for printing posters and material. We also have A PowerPoint Careers Presentation aimed at students, which can be adapted to suit your individual presentation.
