Loss of Privileges of Membership
The Institute’s Council has determined that the privileges to be lost when membership renewals are not made before 31st March in any subscription year (in accordance with Rule D3) shall be as follows:
- Routine mailings
- Access to the Members Area of the IPEM Website
- Payment of Expenses for attendance at any IPEM meetings / suspension of membership of any IPEM committees / panels / groups or any IPEM office
- Right to be an IPEM representative on any external group
- IPEM Member discount to register for IPEM scientific meetings
- IPEM Member discount to purchase IPEM publications
- IPEM member discount for PSC advertising
- Right to be notified of and attend IPEM business meetings
- Voting rights, in person or by proxy at IPEM business meetings or participation in postal ballots.
- Members who are registered with the Engineering Council as Chartered Engineers, Incorporated Engineers and Engineering Technicians, and those registered with the Science Council as Chartered Scientists (and shortly as) Registered Scientists and Registered Science Technicians are required to retain professional body membership to retain their registration title(s), which requires renewal of professional body membership subscriptions and payment of annual Engineering Council and/or Science Council Registration fees through the registering Institute.
