There is a tendency to consider that the benefits of Assistive Technology usage are self-evident, but there is a real need for the objective measurement of outcomes so that the practice of rehabilitation engineering has a robust and significant evidence base. Given this, how do we demonstrate that interventions involving assistive technology are beneficial?

This event will provide an opportunity to exchange ideas and to present developing practices and new results. The aim is to encourage dialog on the issues surrounding outcomes assessment in assistive technology including the difficulties in undertaking randomised controlled trials in rehabilitation engineering. It will encourage the dissemination of best practice and facilitate a discussion on the way forward for the measurement of outcomes.

Final Programme and Registration Form now available to download here. If you would like to attend, please complete the registration form and return to IPEM with your payment to secure a place.
